Wait so they've already sent TG back to the AHL? And they didn't send Sanhiem with him? So Sanhiem will go thru this entire break not playing after being scratched time and time again? Makes no sense. |

LOL Couturier busted out the one-timer 24 hours after we were talking about it
They are gonna be streaky all season, might not make the playoffs. But they are fun to watch because of Giroux, Couturier, Voracek, Ghost and Provorov |

I have absolutely no way of knowing this, but I do think every once in a while, if they can, they want to see if a guy is really close, and if so, how close
They know what Weise is, for examole. Sometimes, I do think they like to get a look at a guy, real quick, for later

I have no issue with TG being sent back. Sanhiem needs to be playing hockey. It isn't serving anyone to have Sanhiem not play. They made a decision to send TG back so he could keep playing. I have no idea why they wouldn't have done the same with Sanhiem. |

I agree if there are some Phantoms game this week they could send Sanheim down to get some game action and then call him right back up. |

It's only one game, the day before the Flyers return to action but if they're not going to start him against the Devils anyway he should just be moved back down sooner rather than later. |

Sanheim will get back in the lineup, Manning is bound to make some dumb plays out there eventually. I'd be surprised to see Sanheim sent back down , seems like him and Manning will be switching in and out for one another for the rest of the season depending on performance. |

In baseball parlance, I feel Travis Sanheim is that young, stud starting pitcher who is getting shelled right now and either needs some time in the bullpen or down in the minors. |

Here's hoping.
Manning hasn't played all that great recently and they keep going back to him. |

Brandon Manning's advanced stats aren't as terrible as you'd think:

Sanheim is the future of this franchise, but right now, he's a (frank)ing mess.
This isn't a video game, where everyone dispassionately plays in accordance with their rating. He looks like a dude that needs some confidence. |

Oh, don't go Christian Bale on me, mother(frank)er!
I'm just pointing out a particular sample size. I will design the cannon to fire Brandon Manning into the sun myself. |

You could be right, but I think they would have done it last season with any of Hagg, Morin and Sanheim. |

Bill Meltzer: Wrap: Flyers Top Sabres, 4-1 - bmeltzer
A legitimate point by mjl was made in the last thread about Filppula. How the team would miss him if he were to get hurt and he missed time. Mjl is right. With this said, Giroux made interesting comments within the last 24 hours of how he still views himself a center, and he is. I still believe we should get what we can for Filppula at the deadline. This isn't a "Go all in season". I'm interested in seeing Laughton move up in the line up. I think German Rubstov takes over in Filppula's role next season. I think some of these bridge gap players have to be sacrificed for the development of up and coming young players. |

And the New Orleans crowd is cheering their asses off as he collapses trying to get off the field. |
